How It Works

Three steps between you and your entry.

1

Complete the application

Passport details and travel dates. A few minutes — saved as you go.

2

Secure payment

Government fee plus our processing fee, itemised before you pay.

3

Receive by email

The moment the authorities issue it, we email it straight to you — print it or carry it on your phone.

Before you apply

Applying for your Georgia travel authorisation

Georgia's travel authorisation is issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. govr.me is a private, independent service — we are not a government department. We check your documents, complete the official form and submit your application for you. You can also apply yourself, directly and for the government fee only, at the official portal authority website.

What it costs

Government fee$20Set by the authority — the same wherever you apply
Our service fee$100Document check, form completion, submission & support
You pay$120From — final price shown before payment

Prices in USD. Our fee pays for our help only; it does not buy a faster government decision. Applying directly at the official portal costs the government fee alone.

May not need one

~95 countries (UK, US, Canada, Australia, NZ, EU/EEA, Japan, Korea, Israel, GCC, Brazil, Mexico and more) get 365 days without an entry — you don't need to apply.

  • At least 1 blank page.
  • Georgia requires 3 months validity beyond intended departure.

  • Travel insurance (≥EUR 30,000 medical, mandatory)
  • Hotel booking OR notarised invitation letter from Georgian host

How the application works

  1. Eligibility Check
  2. Personal Information
  3. Travel & Passport
  4. Document Upload
  5. Review & Submit
  6. Payment

Payment: travel application; Mastercard; Amex (limited); TBC Pay / Bank of Georgia mobile (local). PDF emailed with QR + serial number; re-downloadable with Application ID + email + DOB. 5–10 business days.

Do

  • Check FIRST whether you need an entry — most Western travellers get 365 days without one.
  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow the 5–10 working day SLA.
  • Purchase travel insurance with ≥EUR 30,000 medical — mandated and checked.
  • Upload a clear colour scan of passport bio page; black-and-white scans are rejected.
  • Book a refundable hotel for the application — you can change later.
  • Apply via the authority website only — many fake lookalike sites charge 4–5× the fee.

Don't

  • Don't travel via Russia to Abkhazia or South Ossetia — Georgia treats it as illegal entry.
  • Don't apply if you can already stay 365 days without an entry.
  • Don't book non-refundable flights before grant — Cat-C SLA is officially 10 working days.
  • Don't use a low-coverage travel-insurance quote — the border guard checks the policy.
  • Don't declare a wrong purpose — e.g., tourism with an obvious work invitation.
  • Don't type Cyrillic / Georgian script in the form — fields are Latin only.

Why applications are refused

Decisions rest entirely with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The most common reasons an application is turned down:

  • No travel insurance / insufficient coverage uploaded.
  • Passport validity less than 3 months beyond intended stay.
  • Cat-C "third-country permit" path — Schengen scan expired or already-used.
  • Hotel booking obviously fake (refunded Booking.com confirmation).
  • Photo non-compliant — yellow tint, glasses, or background not white.
