Before you apply
Applying for your Dubai travel authorisation
Dubai's travel authorisation is issued by Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP). govr.me is a private, independent service — we are not a government department. We check your documents, complete the official form and submit your application for you. You can also apply yourself, directly and for the government fee only, at the official portal authority website.

How the application works

Payment: travel application; Mastercard; Amex; Apple Pay; Google Pay; UAE PASS wallet. PDF emailed + downloadable from "My Applications".
Do
- Use a passport with at least 6 months validity from arrival.
- Upload a colour scan of your passport bio-data — black & white is rejected.
- Match the spelling of your name exactly to the passport (every space, hyphen, suffix).
- Apply at least 5–7 days before travel for standard processing.
- Carry a printed copy of the entry PDF when boarding.
- Cross-check whether your nationality qualifies for a free permit on arrival before paying.
Don't
- Don't travel on a passport that expires within 6 months.
- Don't use an old or damaged passport — torn pages trigger automatic rejection.
- Don't submit a selfie or phone-camera photo with shadows.
- Don't apply through unverified WhatsApp brokers — they often submit fake documents.
- Don't overstay — UAE imposes daily fines of AED 50 (~$13) plus possible entry ban.
- Don't submit multiple parallel applications — duplicates are flagged.
Why applications are refused
Decisions rest entirely with Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP). The most common reasons an application is turned down:
- Insufficient passport validity (less than 6 months).
- Previous overstay or breach of UAE immigration record.
- Mismatch between passport name spelling and application form.
- Low-quality, blurred, or non-compliant passport photo.
- Incomplete travel itinerary — missing return ticket or hotel proof.
Important for Dubai
- GCC citizens never need a UAE entry.
- ~80 nationalities (UK, US, Canada, Australia, NZ, Japan, Korea, EU/Schengen) are eligible for a free permit on arrival — the online entry is for skipping queues or for passports without that option.
