Before you apply

Applying for your Jordan travel authorisation

Jordan's travel authorisation is issued by Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ministry of Interior — General Directorate of Public Security. govr.me is a private, independent service — we are not a government department. We check your documents, complete the official form and submit your application for you. You can also apply yourself, directly and for the government fee only, at the official portal authority website.

What it costs

Government fee$56Set by the authority — the same wherever you apply
Our service fee$100Document check, form completion, submission & support
You pay$156From — final price shown before payment

Prices in USD. Our fee pays for our help only; it does not buy a faster government decision. Applying directly at the official portal costs the government fee alone.

  • Coloured passport bio-page scan
  • Recent passport-style photo (white background)
  • Hotel reservation OR invitation letter
  • Return / onward flight ticket
  • For some nationalities: bank statement, employer letter, or "no objection letter"

How the application works

  2. Select service (Tourist / Multi / Transit)
  3. Application form
  4. Upload documents
  5. Pay

Payment: travel application; Mastercard. PDF emailed + portal dashboard. 3–5 business days.

Do

  • Consider Jordan Pass if you stay ≥3 nights and visit Petra — almost always cheaper than an entry + Petra admission.
  • Ensure your passport has 6 months validity from arrival and at least one blank page.
  • Upload clear colour scans before submitting.
  • Apply 7–10 days before travel to absorb processing + Jordanian holidays.
  • Carry a paper printout of your entry or Jordan Pass — Jordanian officers prefer paper.
  • Keep your Jordan Pass QR code accessible offline — Petra and Wadi Rum staff scan it.

Don't

  • Don't enter via the King Hussein / Allenby Bridge with only an online permit — that crossing requires a paper permit.
  • Don't buy Jordan Pass if your stay is less than 3 nights — the permit-fee waiver requires 3 nights.
  • Don't rely on Jordan Pass for multi-entry — its included permit is single-entry.
  • Don't submit a phone-screenshot passport image — visible glare = auto-rejection.
  • Don't use unofficial agents charging $150+ — legitimate price is $56 (entry) or $99–$113 (Jordan Pass).
  • Don't overstay — Jordan fines JOD 1.50 per day, escalating with bans.

Why applications are refused

Decisions rest entirely with Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ministry of Interior — General Directorate of Public Security. The most common reasons an application is turned down:

  • Insufficient passport validity (less than 6 months).
  • Missing or unclear hotel/accommodation proof.
  • Photograph not meeting specs (background, lighting, file size).
  • Insufficient bank balance / weak ties to home country (higher-scrutiny nationalities).
  • Previous overstay or deportation from Jordan or another GCC country.

Important for Jordan

  • King Hussein / Allenby Bridge does NOT accept the online permit — use Sheikh Hussein (north) or Wadi Araba (south).
  • Jordan Pass requires a 3-night minimum stay for the permit fee to be waived.
