How it works
Choose your country, enter your passport details and travel dates. A few minutes — saved as you go.
Government fee plus our processing fee, itemised in full before you pay. Nothing hidden.
The moment it's issued we email your entry straight to you — print it or carry it on your phone.
Before you apply
Applying for your Oman travel authorisation
Oman's travel authorisation is issued by Royal Oman Police — Directorate General of Passports and Residence. govr.me is a private, independent service — we are not a government department. We check your documents, complete the official form and submit your application for you. You can also apply yourself, directly and for the government fee only, at the official portal authority website.
What it costs
Prices in USD. Our fee pays for our help only; it does not buy a faster government decision. Applying directly at the official portal costs the government fee alone.
Since 2023, ~103 nationalities (UK, US, Canada, Australia, NZ, EU/Schengen, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Russia and many more) can enter Oman without an entry for 14 days — the online permit is only needed for non-listed passports.

Documents you'll need
- Coloured passport bio-page scan

How the application works
- Select permit type + nationality
- Fill applicant details
- Upload passport scan + photo
- Pay → entry emailed
Payment: travel application; Mastercard (limited); Omani local cards; Online banking. Email PDF; downloadable from "Track Application" tab.
Do
- Check whether your nationality can enter without a permit before paying — Oman expanded its list substantially in 2023.
- Use the authority website — there are no other official portals.
- Upload a clear scan of your passport bio-data, not a phone photo.
- List a real hotel booking at an Omani-registered property.
- Print your entry confirmation; many ROP officers prefer a printed copy.
- Comply with Oman's modest dress code, especially at religious sites and souqs.
Don't
- Don't pay for an entry if your nationality doesn't need one — entry is free at the port.
- Don't attempt to work on a tourist permit; Omanisation policies are enforced.
- Don't overstay; fine is 10 OMR/day with re-entry ban risk.
- Don't bring drones without prior permission from the Civil Aviation Authority.
- Don't photograph government buildings, military, or oil installations.
- Don't enter Musandam Peninsula without checking permit rules for your nationality.
Why applications are refused
Decisions rest entirely with Royal Oman Police — Directorate General of Passports and Residence. The most common reasons an application is turned down:
- Nationality eligibility mismatch (system blocks at first step).
- Passport validity below 6 months.
- Photograph fails ROP's image-quality check.
- Previous Oman overstay or deportation in the ROP database.
- Submission errors — duplicate applications or mismatched personal data.
