Applying for your Sri Lanka travel authorisation
Sri Lanka's travel authorisation is issued by Department of Immigration & Emigration, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. govr.me is a private, independent service — we are not a government department. We check your documents, complete the official form and submit your application for you. You can also apply yourself, directly and for the government fee only, at the official portal authority website.

A tourist travel application for Sri Lanka normally allows a stay of up to 30 days with double entry, and can be extended inside the country through the Department of Immigration & Emigration. Confirm the current stay length and any fee-waiver nationalities on the official portal.

Why applications are refused
Decisions rest entirely with Department of Immigration & Emigration, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The most common reasons an application is turned down:
- Passport validity under 6 months.
- Details that do not match the passport.
- No onward/return travel or proof of funds.
- Prior immigration violation in Sri Lanka.
